Hudson County Commissioners are the elected officials who run our county government, essentially the county-wide version of a city or town council. They pass local laws, oversee critical public services, and decide how hundreds of millions of tax dollars are spent each year.
County government plays a major role in our daily lives, often in ways people don’t realize. Commissioners make decisions that impact the judicial system, law enforcement, education, the environment, open space, job training, economic development, housing, and support for our local communities.
In fact, Hudson County Commissioners vote on a budget of over $700 million, shaping everything from infrastructure to essential public programs across our communities.
But here’s the problem: most residents don’t know who their commissioner is or what they actually do.
That’s why accountability matters and why this race matters.
